It is impressive what Dominic Stricker experienced and achieved in 2020. Roger Federer invited the Bernese tennis talent to Dubai in January to prepare for the season. In October he triumphed in Roland Garros’ junior field – in singles and doubles, well noticed. Less than a month ago he prepared the stars for their missions at the ATP Finals in London, training with Stefanos Tsitsipas, Dominic Thiem and the eventual winner Daniil Medvedev, among others. And now the 18-year-old from Grosshöchstetten has been nominated for the national young talent award “Best Talent Sport” – together with athlete Simon Ehammer and cross-country skier Siri Wigger.
The audience decides who wins: at the SRF website can be voted on. As part of the live broadcast for the “Sports Awards” on Sunday, December 13th (8:05 pm on SRF 1), the “Best Talent Sport” will be chosen. The winner can look forward to a sponsorship award worth CHF 12,000 in the name of Swiss Sports Aid.
It would be the crowning glory for Stricker’s junior period, who in 2021 will only be on the professional tour and will compete in tournaments in the third highest category beforehand.
