Thiruvananthapuram: She entered the music world at the age of 11 singing Kamukara’s song. He sang songs by AM Raja and Mohammad Rafi. He has sung over a thousand songs for All India Radio, Doordarshan and other TV channels. He was the lead singer of the Old Is Gold troupe, which performed old songs. He also excelled as a coordinator and program conductor.
When it became popular on TV, MS Naseem was full of soothing songs. Sung in 18 languages for Delhi Doordarshan. He has composed music for many plays, TV series and documentaries. Sung for professional theater groups and for over fifty cassettes. He also released his first Malayalam ghazal album. The old songs of the film were released under the title ‘Rajmahal’.
Produced the cassettes Ganasmriti and Hits of AM Raja. After working for the Electricity Board for 27 years, he retired in 2003 and focused on music. He was paralyzed while making a documentary about Noushad. He has directed several documentaries. The film ‘Mizhav’ won the National Award. They sang together for three or four years at Old Is Gold. He was an excellent organizer. He would run around the stage with a camera and take photos.

Naseem said he was done 18 years ago. When I was informed that I had fallen unconscious two days ago and my BP was high, I was advised to see a doctor and take medicine. The answer was no medicine. Everyone thought Naseem’s singer was gone when he lost his ability to speak. But he regained maximum health. Naseem and I have often seen each other at weddings of friends’ children.
