No more earphones and chargers for shoppers: Apple’s new policy?

A new leak reveals that Apple is considering the possibility of implementing a new sales policy with the launch of the iPhone 12.

The American company plans to stop including cable chargers and headphones with these smartphones, says the analyst. Ming-Chi Kuo. Although this information should be taken with a grain of salt, it should be noted that Kuo has an impeccable record in regard to leaks of Apple products.

The culprit of the changes? The introduction of 5G, assures the analyst. According to Kuo, the implementation of the new communication standard carries additional costs and with the elimination of accessories Apple hopes to reduce the price of iPhone 12.

Another reason is the packaging or better said: the size of the box. Not including the accessories will decrease the size of the box and with this there will also be a reduction in transport costs.

Kuo also offered additional details on future Apple chargers. The analyst says the company plans to remove the chargers from 5W and 18W to enter one of 20W. In turn, the latter will be sold separately for the iPhone 12.

At the same time, the new iPad, a 10.8-inch one that will be presented at the end of the year and an 8.5-inch one in the first half of 2021, will have the charger in the box.

It should be mentioned that this is not the first time that Apple has chosen to sell its devices without a charger. The same was done with the Apple Watch Series 3, which only had a cable with a magnetic connector, but did not have the power block.
