No Getok prices! These Caucasians snack at roadside stalls, only IDR 11,000

A foreigner has a snack at shop roadside in Bali. However, there are things that amazed netizens after seeing the seller set a price of only Rp. 11,000, without checking the price!

Vendors are often found to check prices when selling food or goods to tourists, especially foreign tourists. They know these tourists don’t understand the real price. Finally, some of the items he has sold have been increased in price many times over. No wonder so many tourists are deceived and become victims.

However, recent events show that there are vendors who are still very honest when serving a foreign tourist. To the extent that the action was admired by netizens.

This is demonstrated by the upload of the TikTok video @davud_akh (11/24). This foreigner was seen to be stopping at a small roadside shop in the Bali area. The foreigner named Davud Akhundzada was indeed coming. He also saw a small roadside stall and decided to stop for a while.

“We stopped briefly for a snack,” Davud said in the video.

Apparently, this shop sells various kinds of market snacks. In the clip it can be seen that this foreigner chooses different foods. He even took the time to ask the vendor about the food.

While showing the snacks he had chosen, this Caucasian also described some of the foods he knew by saying, “Here satiate, chicken or pork. It’s like sticky rice, which I’ve already tried in Malaysia.”

But there are some foods that are not yet known to him. When he saw a pack of duct tape and also some ice in the container, this Caucasian was intrigued. He then asked the salesman whether he was sweet or not.

“Is it sweet? Wow, there are a lot of sweets here. I also want to drink it,” said Davud.

After selecting the snacks, the vendor immediately set up quickly. Luckily, the vendor spoke English so they had time to talk about a number of things.

In the clip, this foreigner can be seen buying quite a few snacks including satay, otak-otak, tape, a glass of ice similar to mixed ice, and some market cakes.

When you want to pay, there are things that surprise many netizens. This is because all the snacks Davud bought were priced at IDR 11,000 only!

The seller gave the original price with some food which costs only IDR 6,000. Meanwhile, frozen drinks have a value of 5,000 IDR. That was enough to surprise David.

“So we actually only paid $0.70 (Rp. 11 thousand),” concluded Davud in the video.

Considering the seller was very kind, Davud also gave 15,000 IDR in cash. Then he also gave a cash bonus of IDR 100,000 to the seller’s son.

“Here is Rp. 15,000. Here is Rp. 100,000 for your son. Buy something for him,” Davud continued.

The video, which has been viewed by 1.6 million people, has attracted many positive reactions from netizens. Netizens were not only amazed at Davud’s kindness to give more money, but also at the food vendor’s attitude.

Netizens praised his honesty in giving foreign tourists the real price. “The seller is really good, he didn’t make fun of the price, you are good,” wrote one netizen.

Other netizens also commented, “It’s a good bet you don’t cheat on the price.”

This comment was answered by another netizen: “I wish there were more people like this.”

Quite a few netizens also think that the seller really wants to seek blessings so as to fix local prices.

“Even if foreigners are given local prices, respect is great. Livelihood is hoped to be regular,” commented one netizen.
