No Covid-19 diagnoses in the first week after the resumption of the NHL season – Hockey

The NHL reports that in the fourth phase, when the season is already in full swing, no new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the first week. A total of 7013 tests have already been performed during this time.

Testing in the fourth phase was performed daily from July 27 to August 1. During this period, 52 members of each team were tested.

NHL teams arrived at their “bubble” headquarters in Toronto and Edmonton on July 26.

On Tuesday, the Columbia Blue Jackets, represented by Elvis Merzlikkin and Matīss Kivelnieks, will meet with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the first duel, the Latvian team was superior, resulting in a 1-0 advantage in the series up to three victories.

A day later, the Pittsburgh Penguins, represented by Theodore Bluger, will meet the Montreal Canadiens for the third time. Currently, the score in the series is a draw 1-1.

The Bruins, Lightning, Capitals and Flyers compete in one round at the Eastern Conference on Sowing, but the following pairs meet in a qualifying tournament with eight teams: Penguins vs. Canadiens, Hurricanes vs. Rangers, Islanders vs. Panthers and Blue Jackets vs. Maple Leafs.

The Blues, Golden Knights, Avalanche and Stars are fighting in a single round at the Western Conference for sown places, while the following teams meet in a qualifying tournament with eight teams: “Oilers” against “Blackhawks”, “Predators” against “Coyotes” , “Canucks” vs. “Wild” and “Flames” vs. “Jets.”

There is a 24-team elimination tournament in Toronto and Edmonton. It envisages a series of up to three wins in the “play-off” qualifying round, followed by a switch to the traditional series format for up to four wins.
