Nitrogen fertilization optimization in industrial peppers

The objective of the work presented below is to study the response of a pepper crop for industry irrigated by drip against different doses of nitrogen fertilizer in the cultivation conditions of Las Vegas Bajas del Guadiana in Extremadura.

The production of vegetables, both outdoors and in the greenhouse, is key in Spanish agriculture. The area dedicated to irrigated vegetables in the open air was 200,828 ha, with an economic value of 29,535 euros / ha (Mapama, 2017). The main horticultural crop in Spain is tomato (32.7% of total vegetable production), with 57% being the transformation tomato. Estremadura It is the main processing area for tomato production with 22,449 ha in 2015 (Mapama, 2017).
