In a statement, Nissan North America was pleased to have been awarded the contract to supply New York City with “tomorrow’s taxi“, a spacious minivan.
The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC)”selected the Nissan NV200 as the exclusive New York City taxi beginning in late 2013“, at the end of a selection process that lasted “more than two years“, specifies the press release.
“Nissan is proud to bring the next generation of taxis to New York City“, rejoiced Carlos Tavares, the president of Nissan, quoted in the press release.
“The NV200 taxi will give Nissan the opportunity to demonstrate its commitment to vehicle quality and urban mobility to more than 600,000 daily passengers“, he added.
