According to the new agreements with the Nissan, the Losanga brand will have the task of developing the most compact cars, belonging to segments A and B. Among these there will also be the sixth series of the Micra which, contrary to what some rumors anticipate, will be developed and produced by the French company, just like the current generation.
Goodbye Flins. In fact, since 2016, the little Japanese is assembled in the historic factory in Flins-sur-Seine, a few kilometers north of Paris. With the exit of the fourth generation of the Renault Clio (with the transition to the Cmf-B platform, the fifth series is produced in Bursa, Turkey and Novo Mesto, Slovenia), the only Losanga car left in the French factory is the electric Zoe and the future of the Flins factory is already written: the Régie, in fact, has announced that the production of cars will end in 2024. The new generation Micra will therefore not be assembled in this factory and it is not excluded that the Renault may decide to build the Japanese five-door on the same lines as the Clio.
White card to Renault. The new plans were announced by the chief operating officer of Nissan, Ashwani Gupta, who during an interview with the French newspaper Le Monde also confirmed that the Régie will have carte blanche for the Micra: “Where will it be produced? Sunderland remains. Yokohama’s number two reiterated that the group’s light commercial vehicles will also be developed by the French, denying rumors about the closure of the British factory in Sunderland: “Considering our market share of 2.5%, we could not afford the luxury of operate two factories in Europe, which is why we have decided to close Barcelona.
