Niort Agglo is setting up a recycling center pass from January 1, 2022

From the January 1, 2022, the inhabitants of the agglomeration of Niort must have a pass to enter one of the 12 waste reception centers in the area. Goal : regulate flows. “Last year we collected a little over 37,000 tonnes from the recycling center. Ten years ago we had almost 10,000 less”, notes Dominique Six, vice-president of Niort Agglo in charge of waste.

The elected representative explains it by the arrival in the waste reception centers of the agglomeration of people who do not live in the territory. But also by waste from professionals. “It is their responsibility and their responsibility to evacuate their own waste”, recalls Dominique Six. It is planned, except for the big professionals, a pass of 50 passages per year, paying. The same goes for associations, some of which may be subject to exemption, specifies the vice-president of the agglomeration.

18 passages per year for individuals

For individuals, there will be one access badge per household credited with 18 visits year round. Pass free. “The goal is also for people to get into the habit of increasing their intake”, explains Dominique Six. It will be possible from time to time to request an exemption if necessary (one exemption per semester).

How to get the pass?

Access card can be ordered from this Monday July 19, you must connect to the dedicated website and provide in particular an identity document and proof of address of less than three months. You will then receive your pass, by post, from October.

For rural municipalities, it will also be possible to complete a file at the town hall. A number if necessary, that of the waste management: 05.49.78.74.70.
