Nintendo may release new version of Switch later this year – Gaming – News

I don’t expect it to come. Even if Nintendo announces a significant update around eg E3 in June, it won’t be there until the end of next year, I think. Only minor updates, such as the Switch Lite, Nintendo normally announces at short notice.

Now there is already a lite of course, but there may be a lite v2, a V3 of the normal Switch, or a console only variant (sort of pstv-like console). You want to announce a 4K ‘Pro / X’ model longer in advance so that developers can also use it. If that has not yet been announced, it will certainly not come this year.

In comparison, the first news from the Switch came to shareholders in March 2015 (then called the NX). In April 2016 it was announced that the Switch should be released with a year, and in June 2016 the Switch was actually shown to the public. Then came a release in March 2017.
