Nintendo is pulling the plug on Super Mario Maker

Nintendo has made the decision to stop supporting Super Mario Maker.

With the arrival of the Nintendo Switch The heyday of Wii U is now far behind us. Everything now revolves around the Switch and not so crazy about. The device is a huge success. That is why Nintendo has made a decision to support a game on the Wii U, Super Mario Maker.

Super Mario Maker on Wii U will no longer offer full functionality by March 31, 2021. Nintendo pulls the plug. Among other things, the possibility to upload maps yourself in the game will no longer be possible from that 31st. Gamers are dependent on the game’s sequel on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s not uncommon for an old game to stop receiving support. So close EA Games now and then servers of old games, for example a Medal of Honor from the past. Keep the server capacity open for that kind games is not financially profitable.

Super Mario Maker appeared on Wii U in 2015. Apparently not a lot of people play this game anymore, because it is of course not just that Nintendo pulls the plug after five years.
