“The Land of Games 2024”

Again this year, the sports policy of the department is part of the label obtained by the Departmental Council in March 2020 and of the redevelopment project of the departmental sports center of Méjannes-le-Clap. This site will become a jewel of the tourist attraction of the Gard by establishing itself as a preparation center for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Sporting events labeled “Gard plein nature”

As part of this policy, the Departmental Council encourages the organization of outdoor sporting events. It accompanies the activities denominated “Gard plein nature (GPN)” through three challenges of the Gard: trail, night duets and mountain biking.

The three organizers of challenges that bear the brand respect eco-responsible commitments such as the use of compostable glasses or courses created without impacting nature.

Gard Tourisme accompanies the actors of the promotion

Strong axis of the tourism and leisure development plan, voted by the departmental assembly in 2017 and of the coherence plan for outdoor activities validated in 2019, support for the development of this type of activity is one of the council’s priorities provincial. The Gard department is eclectic. The beauty of its landscapes, the toponymic diversity and the exceptional nature of its heritage, both natural and cultural, make it an attractive playground for outdoor enthusiasts, top-level athletes or leisure enthusiasts. This is how Gard Tourisme, within the framework of its various missions, accompanies public and private actors in tourism development: from the evaluation of projects to the marketing of tourism products, via communication and promotion.
