Nikkie de Jager is impressed by the loving reactions she receives after being revealed to be a transgender on Monday evening. The makeup artist and YouTuber say on Instagram Stories on Tuesday that she did not dare dream that she would receive so much support.
“I did not expect this. I had taken into account many situations, but never dreamed that I would receive so much love, support and warmth. That means a lot to me,” said De Jager, who as NikkieTutorials makeup videos makes on YouTube.
She thanks her followers and promises that she will try to read all messages and reactions. “I’m going to let it come to me, process it and be free.”
Her mother, who is extensively thanked in the video of De Jager for her support, also reacts happily to her daughter’s coming-out. “My daughter I was always very proud of, but even more after this video! I have deep respect for you. You are strong. I hope you can help so many others with your coming out”, writes’ MamaTutorials ‘, as she is called by fans of the YouTuber, on Facebook.
De Jager posted a video on Monday evening in which she says she was born in the wrong body. The makeup artist was born as a boy, but dressed as a girl from an early age and began hormone treatments in her teens.
The YouTuber claims to have been blackmailed by people who threatened to make her ‘secret’ public. She says it is annoying not to have been able to choose her moment of coming out, but she feels free now that she has shared it with her millions of followers.
