Nikkie de Jager, better known as NikkieTutorials, will become the Dutch ambassador of the United Nations (UN). The makeup artist announced this on Wednesday in a video on her YouTube channel.
“I’m going to promote the UN’s goals in the Netherlands,” said 26-year-old De Jager. “I am doing that here on my platform to make the people aware of international cooperation and the establishment of an international legal order. It is going to be very chic.”
During her ambassadorship, De Jager will focus on gender equality and reduced inequalities. “These two goals are very important to me and I feel that I can really work on these two goals and bring about change. What I want to do as an ambassador is to speak out and make people aware of the problems that exist.”
De Jager made international news earlier this year when she confessed that she is transgender and was born a man. She expressed herself as a woman from the age of six.
