Nikki Haley Closes Ratings Gap with Trump in New Hampshire Republican Primary: CNN Survey

Former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has narrowed her ratings gap with former President Donald Trump ahead of the Republican primary in the key state of New Hampshire.

As European Pravda writes, this is evidenced by a survey CNN.

According to the survey, Haley’s support has risen 12 percentage points since the last CNN/UNH poll in November, continuing an upward trajectory in her ratings that began last summer. At the same time, the performance of her opponents, including Trump, has remained stable or decreased slightly since the fall.

Trump still holds a significant lead in the poll, with 39% of likely Republican voters in New Hampshire backing him, compared to Haley’s 32%.

The remaining Republican candidates are trailing significantly: former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie has 12% support, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has 8%, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has 5%, and former Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson has less than 1%.

Haley’s support has risen sharply among voters registered as undeclared, the term used in New Hampshire to describe independent voters, up 18 percentage points in that group since November.

Her ratings also rose 20 percentage points among ideological moderates. The gains come as her campaign intensifies in the state, including an endorsement last month from New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu.

The GOP primary in the state, which is dominated by more moderate voters and voters with changing beliefs, will take place on January 23.

A Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll conducted in December showed61% of Republicans said they would vote for Trump in the primaries.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, his closest rivals, received the support of 11% of Republicans. Both Haley and DeSantis have fared significantly better in some state-level polls, although neither has come close to eclipsing Trump.

In a poll for The Wall Street Journal in December, Trump ahead current head of the White House Joe Biden.
