The Norwegian golf profile was on a shot put to place among the very best ahead of Sunday’s fourth round, and initially Hovland made new byks on the results lists.
After seven holes he had signed up in the saithe match. Then the scorecard contained two birdies and a powdery eagle. In the results list, he had only two players ahead of him.
On hole number eight, however, came a bogey, and a tired double bogey on the 13th hole ruined the chances of ranking among the foremost.
It didn’t help that the golf pro contrasted with a birdie on hole number 15.
Hovland finished the round two strokes under par and ended 13 strokes under par in the tournament. It gave split 12th place before everyone was finished.
Dustin Johnson is set to win the Cromwell tournament. He had two types of leadership when the tournament was temporarily halted at midnight Norwegian time due to inclement weather.
Merit Johnson then had three holes left to play.
If Hovland finishes in 12th place, 134,000 US dollars (around NOK 1.3 million) would have been secured.
