In the 90’s, few Hollywood couples were like that profiled as Nicole Kidman (54) and Tom Cruise (59). The former duo gave each other their “yes” in 1990, but parted ways in 2001 – after eleven seemingly happy years as spouses.
The marriage between Kidman and Cruise has long been a bygone chapter, yet fans have constantly brought up the topic again. That despite the couple themselves rarely speaks of time as spouses.
Now, however, Kidman has commented on the difficult time after the divorce with the superstar.
Opens up about the break
In an interview with “This Cultural Life” on BBC Radio 4, Kidman says that she suffered from depression after the divorce with Cruise, and hence also during the filming of the movie “The Hours”. It writes Swedish Aftonbladet.
– I could not feel my own body, she says about the time after the fracture, according to Daily Mail.
Despite the fact that the actress did not have it easy in private, she impressed so much that she won an Oscar for the role in the film.
It’s now almost 20 years since Kidman played the role of world-renowned author Virginia Woolf.
The film is about Virginia Woolf’s complicated life and tragic suicide. In 1941, she drowned in the river Ouse, and Kidman is said to have insisted on playing in the suicide scene herself – without a stunt woman.
–
Again and again she walked down the river with large stones in her pockets, and a bad thought appeared in the actress.
– The thought of letting Virginia into me was wide open to me, and Stephen (Daldry, the film’s director) saw it and treated me carefully, she continued.
As mentioned, the role resulted in an Oscar, and Kidman won the award for best actress.
Together, the couple has daughters Sunday Rose (13) and Faith Margaret (11). Kidman also has two older children with her ex-husband Cruise, Isabella Jane (29) and Connor (26).
