Nick de Vries has completed the outfitting of the seats of the F1 car of the AlphaTauri Scuderia, which will join in 2023.
Nick de Vries reported on Twitter that he visited the AlphaTauri Scuderia plant in Faenza, Italy, to fit the seats. De Vries plans to race AlphaTauri’s F1 car in the Young Drivers Test in Abu Dhabi after the season.
Over the weekend of the Japanese Grand Prix, Scuderia AlphaTauri announced that Nick de Vries will be Yuki Tsunoda’s new teammate in 2023. Pierre Gasly, the current driver, will move to the Alpine F1 team and take the lead.
It was rumored that Nick de Vries, who suddenly made his F1 debut from Williams as a replacement for Alexander Albon at the F1 Italian Grand Prix, would win the spot in F1 2023 after finishing ninth. Shortly thereafter, he was spotted in Austria and revealed he was in talks with Red Bull F1 motorsports consultant Helmut Marko.
“I am very excited to join Scuderia AlphaTauri for the 2023 F1 season. I would like to thank Red Bull and Scuderia AlphaTauri for giving me the opportunity to drive in F1,” said Nick de Vries.
“After F2, I took a different path in motorsport, but Formula 1 has always been a dream, so I’m happy to be able to make that dream come true.”
“I have had many opportunities to drive a Formula 1 car in the 2022 season, so I think these experiences have had a positive impact on me for the 2023 season and I hope they will help me in the future.”
