Despite the odds of winning first choice in the second lottery, Columbus Blue Jackets forward Nick Foligno wants to know nothing about a place in the abacus at the expense of a Stanley Cup.

“I don’t think any of us are playing for the first choice. I never want to be in a position where my team picks first in my career. If we come back, it’s to win. ”
The eight teams to be eliminated from the qualifying round will get a 12.5% chance in the second lottery. If the NHL does not resume operations, the Jackets will be part of the lottery since they are in the group of eight lowest-ranked teams.
In the qualifying round, the Jackets will compete against the Toronto Maple Leafs. The team should count on the return of important players, including Seth Jones, Oliver Bjorkstrand and Cam Atkinson, all recovered from injuries.
