Anders Lee surpassed Žigmund Pálffy’s New York Islanders record, Quinn Hughes set a new NHL record, Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid improved Edmonton’s club records. These entries and many other events were brought about by the rich twelve-match program of the hockey pro league.

Lee contributed two goals to the Islanders’ turnaround with Detroit (4:1). The captain of the “Islanders” recorded his 35th multi-goal game, surpassing Pálffy’s record (34) and becoming the eighth player in the club’s history.

Pálffy’s name was also mentioned in connection with Los Angeles. Adrian Kempe is only one hit away from reaching the 30-goal mark for the second season in a row. The last time he did it in the Kings jersey was the former Slovak forward, who scored three seasons in a row with at least 30 goals between 2000 and 2003.

Quinn Hughes set a new NHL record. The Vancouver player collected 200 assists in the first 263 games of his career, which had previously been accomplished faster by no defenseman in the history of the competition. Hughes surpassed the record of Brian Leetch, who needed one more game to do so.

Boston forward David Krejčí recorded his ninth 50-point season. Among the Czech hockey players, only Jaromír Jágr (20x), Patrik Eliáš (12x), Václav Prospal, Jakub Voráček and Milan Hejduk (all 9x) did it in the NHL.

Aleksander Barkov recorded two assists in Florida’s victory over Pittsburgh (4:1). It was his 158th multi-point game, passing former teammate Jonathan Huberdeau for the all-time lead in Panthers history.

Ovechkin detached himself from Mikita

Rasmus Sandin (0+3) became the first defenseman and the 7th skater to score three points in his debut game in a Capitals jersey. The record is held by Mikhail Grabovskij, who had a 1+3 record in his first game for the Capitals on October 1, 2013.

Alexander Ovechkin contributed to Washington’s victory in San Jose with two goals and an assist. The second-best scorer in NHL history broke away from Stan Mikita (1,467) with three points and became the 16th most-scoring player in NHL history (1,470). Among active hockey players, only Sidney Crosby (15th place, 1482) is better.

Kaapo Kahkonen (San Jose) became the 168th goalkeeper against whom Ovechkin scored a goal in the pro league. Jaromír Jágr beat 178 goalkeepers in the NHL, Patrick Marleau scored 177 goals against different defenders of the shrines.

“Sharks” defender Erik Karlsson has collected 80 points in 63 games, since the 1990-91 season only Al MacInnis (62 games) was better.

In the fourth game in a row, Tim Stützle scored and reached 30 goals for the first time in his career. He became the eleventh Ottawa player and, at age 21, the second youngest to do so. The youngest was Alexej Jašin, who scored 30 goals in the 1993-94 season as a 20-year-old.

Leon Draisaitl scored his seventh career hat trick and has 41 goals this season. He became the fifth Oilers player to record at least four 40-goal seasons. Wayne Gretzky (9x), Jari Kurri (7x), Connor McDavid (4x) and Glenn Anderson (4x) are on this list.

Draisaitl scored 26 goals this season on the power play, setting an Oilers record. McDavid also took care of the best record in the history of Edmonton, when he recorded his 58th power-play point this season, surpassing Gretzky’s record (57 in the 1981-82 season).

Matt Boldy became the third player in Minnesota history to score 80 points before his 22nd birthday. He collected 81 points (32+49) in 110 games. In the Wild jersey, only Marián Gáborík (185 points in 271 games) and Pierre-Marc Bouchard (101 in 191) could do it before him.
