Slovak hockey player Marián Hossa will sign a one-day contract with the NHL Chicago Blackhawks to symbolically end his career.
Marián Hossa will sign the contract on the Thursday before the match with Seattle Kraken, followed by a ceremony. A member of the NHL Siena Hall of Fame played 1,309 games, scoring 525 goals and 609 assists. He also won three Stanley Cups with Chicago.
“The Blackhawks and the city of Chicago have a special place in my heart. The decision to go to Chicago in 2009 was one of the best I’ve ever made. I have a lot of memories with my teammates from there, including three Stanley Cups, but also ones that my family created for me out of the ice.
The fans accepted us as their own and treated us kindly wherever we came. Ending a career as a member of the Blackhawks is a dream come true, I can’t imagine another official ending, ” said Marián Hossa for the club’s official website.
