The NFL Scouting Combine could soon have a new home. The NFL informed the franchises on Wednesday that it is now accepting applications to host the Combines in 2023-28.

The league has hosted the annual event in Indianapolis since 1987.

Although the Scouting Combine may be leaving Indianapolis soon, the city’s tourism agency plans to submit a “very competitive” offer for the next available years of the event, said Visit Indy Vice President Chris Gahl.

“As the event has grown, so has the city,” said Gahl. “This is an event we proudly hosted and helped grow along the way, and one that we want to protect by all means so that it stays in Indy beyond 2022.”

The league hosted a significantly scaled-down version of the Combines in Indianapolis in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The NFL is already accepting applications to host the Super Bowl and Draft.
