Paris Saint-Germain came on Wednesday evening in the quarter finals of the Champions League against Atalanta only late on the same level and, thanks to a goal in injury time, was still in the last four. Neymar never thought about elimination, however.
“It’s a great evening”, Neymar exulted after the 1-2 won match in Lisbon. “But it was also difficult. Atalanta is an excellent team, which has been playing well all season. It is the surprise of Serie A.”
Atalanta took the lead after half an hour thanks to a goal from Mario Pasalic. The team of Hans Hateboer and Marten de Roon seemed on their way to a stunt, but just before time Marquinhos took care of the equalizer and in injury time Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting also gave PSG the win.
“I never thought about elimination,” said Neymar. “From the first to the final whistle, I thought about a place in the semi-finals. I knew there would be another goal. We never gave up, even when we were struggling.”

‘It is impossible to disable us’
“We knew they would play very aggressively and that they would put pressure everywhere,” the Brazilian continued. “They played very well, so we are very happy with this result. We are going to rest now, because it was a mental exhaustion.”
In the last four, Paris Saint-Germain will take on the winner of the match between RB Leipzig and Atlético Madrid on Thursday next Tuesday. According to Neymar, it is already clear which team will be the winner in that semi-final battle.
“We experience special things and have a great group, a family. In this state of mind it is impossible to eliminate us. I want to go to the final, no one changes my mind”, the Brazilian concluded.
