Four men were indicted as part of the investigation into the violence that occurred between June 12 and 14 in Dijon, three of which were immediately placed in pre-trial detention. The fourth suspect remained free under judicial supervision.
The city experienced tensions from June 12 to 15, which began with a punitive expedition by members of the Chechen community to Dijonnais of North African origin after the assault of a young Chechen.
The prosecutor of the Republic of Dijon Eric Mathais indicated this Saturday that twenty people had been injured during the violence that occurred in the city.

A hundred people, including residents of Grésilles, earlier challenged a prefectural ban on demonstrations in the city to demand the resignation of the prefect, accused of laxity in the face of punitive expeditions carried out last weekend by the Chechen community in this district sensitive.

The prosecution has requested pre-trial detention. The liberty judge must rule by this evening.
– A 29-year-old man, Russian, with a resident card, arrested in Troyes in the Aube. He is being indicted for association of criminals with a view to preparing crimes punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment, violence aggravated by three circumstances (violence with weapons, committed by several perpetrators and because of real belonging or supposed victims of a community, ethnicity, nation or race), and voluntary degradation. The prosecution has requested pre-trial detention. The liberty judge must rule by this evening.
– 53-year-old Russian national arrested in Dole, Jura. He is indicted for association of criminals with a view to preparing crimes punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment and participation in a group with a view to violence or damage. His pre-trial detention was already ordered before the press conference.
– 41-year-old man, born in Russia but with French nationality, arrested in Dijon. He is indicted for association of criminals with a view to preparing crimes punishable by 10 years’ imprisonment and participation in a group with a view to violence or damage. The liberty judge is currently deliberating on the follow-up to be given to the request for pre-trial detention made by the prosecution.
