On February 7, a father attacked his wife in their home in Bron in the presence of one of the couple’s children. His wife had complained and said they had quarreled; she was punched in the shoulder and saw her husband threaten her with a pair of scissors. He also tore up his identity papers and his residence permit.
Known for violence against a spouse, the forties was summoned to court on Wednesday but he did not appear at the hearing.
The president said he was disputing the charges, which did not prevent him from being sentenced to a three-month suspended prison sentence. The victim’s lawyer obtained all of the sums sought for the damage suffered, namely € 1,400.
