News coming to WhatsApp and Spotify

This week two of the big technology companies uncovered new cards: WhatsApp and Spotify. Both companies unveiled several additions that will soon be available on their platforms.

Communities: the novelty of whatsapp

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the company Meta (formerly Facebook and owner of WhatsApp), announced the arrival of a new functionality in the instant messaging application used by 2 billion users in more than 180 countries.

The addition is called WhatsApp Communities and it’s a tool that will allow people to bring separate groups together under one umbrella with a structure that works for them.

In other words, it is a new tab in the platform interface and allows different groups to be brought together, maintaining a structure according to the needs of each case. This way you can receive updates sent to the entire Community and easily organize smaller discussion groups to talk about what is specifically relevant to that group of people.

The feature will also have new options for administrators such as sending announcement messages to members of all groups or assigning which group the information will be shared with. This, for example, will be useful for teachers, since they will be able to share the most important updates with all parents and create separate groups for specific classes, extracurricular activities or volunteer needs.

“We created WhatsApp Communities to make it much easier to organize all your group chats and find information. You will be able to bring together different groups in a Community, for example, in addition to individual groups for different classes, you can have a general Community for parents in a school with a main site for announcements and tools for administrators,” said Zuckerberg.

The arrival of the reactions is confirmed

During the announcements made by WhatsApp, it was revealed that the company will be rolling out various improvements within the platform over the coming weeks.

The incorporation of reactions was one of the rumors of recent months. Well, the news was confirmed and now it will be possible to react with emojis in text and voice messages, giving users the possibility to quickly share their opinion without flooding the chats with new messages.

Another novelty: Deleted by the administrator. In this case, group admins will be able to remove stray or problematic messages from chats.

Sharing files is also added to this list of updates within the platform. What is it about? From now on, 2GB files will be shared so that people can easily collaborate on projects. And there is a fourth: Calls with more participants that consists of voice calls with a single touch to talk to up to 32 people. They’ll have a brand new design for those times when live talk is better than chat.

Greenroom ahora pasa a ser Spotify Live

The company announced that in the coming days its offer will have a new functionality: Spotify Live, a new option in which the 406 million Spotify listeners will be able to tune in to live programming through the podcast or the creator’s artist page This option ( live audio streaming) will be available as a standalone application and within the start menu of the platform itself.

People who want to join the chat or join the host will be able to do so. How? Via the Spotify Live app
