Newlywed Bride Found Dead in Egypt: Husband Confesses to Murder

Today, Friday, the security services in Egypt revealed the circumstances of finding the body of a bride inside her apartment with several stab wounds, only 48 hours after her wedding, in the village of Nafia, which is affiliated with the Tanta Center district in Gharbia Governorate.

According to the investigations and the words of the bride’s family, their daughter, Aya al-Shibini, works as a teacher and married a young man from the village.

On the other hand, the husband confessed to killing his wife because she refused his requests for bed and her refusal to practice the marital relationship, adding that a sharp argument arose between them, as a result of which he had to slaughter her with a knife and end her life.

The bride’s uncle tells

Samir al-Shibini, the bride’s uncle, told Al-Arabiya.net that they were surprised by a phone call from the groom to his bride’s brother asking him to visit him at home to solve a problem between him and the bride. After her brother arrived, he found the groom standing in the street in front of the house and told him that he had killed his wife, adding that the brother had gone up to the apartment. To find his sister dead and slit from the neck.

He also pointed out that the bride’s father had died years ago and, being her uncle, agreed to the groom who proposed to her 8 months ago, because of his good reputation and good morals, expressing his surprise and shock at what happened.

For his part, Ayman al-Shibini, the bride’s lawyer, told Al-Arabiya.net that the forensic report proved that she is still a virgin, adding that the bride’s mother visited her daughter in the marital home on the morning of the wedding day, and things were good and normal, and there was no indication of any disputes or problems.

He added that according to what the family learned, the husband stabbed his wife with a white knife, fatally stabbed her, and gave her a fatal wound in the neck and cut off her fingers.

In addition, hundreds of villagers mourned the victim’s body in a solemn funeral scene, while Counselor Imad Salem, the first public attorney for the West Tanta College Prosecution Office, decided to imprison the husband for 4 days pending investigations and taking all legal measures regarding the incident.

The Public Prosecution directed the removal of surveillance cameras installed in the vicinity of the couple’s residence, and to hear the statements of their family and eyewitnesses from their neighbors.
