Newcastle United need to generate revenue to avoid penalties from the Premier League’s Financial Fair Play. Apparently they are even prepared to sell regular players like Miguel Almiron (29) or Kieran Trippier. Regarding Almiron, an agreement has now been reached with the Saudi club Al-Shabab.

The example of Everton FC shows that the Premier League is now taking tougher measures when it comes to financial fair play. The Toffees have already had ten points deducted and are also facing another penalty. Newcastle United is also struggling with problems due to the financial requirements of the English league and therefore has to sell players.

Almiron just has to agree to the transfer

In order to avoid penalties, they are apparently even prepared to sell regular players – such as Miguel Almiron. According to “Talksport”, the Magpies are close to selling the Paraguayan. According to the report, an agreement has already been reached with the Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab. Now all that is missing is the final approval from Almiron, who is said to have signaled that he would like to make the change.

With a market value of 30 million euros (transfermarkt.de) and a contract that is still valid until 2026, the current tenth-placed Premier League player would probably receive a reasonable transfer fee in order to then be able to become active on the transfer market themselves.

Eddie Howe is probably calling for a Tonali replacement

Coach Eddie Howe (46) is urgently calling for a replacement for the suspended Sandro Tonali (23), but for that Newcastle first needs income, which is why they should also be prepared to sell Kieran Trippier (33) to FC Bayern. One player tipped to be Tonali’s replacement is Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips (28).

Almiron is a regular player under Howe, making 31 appearances, scoring five goals and assisting another two goals. However, Newcastle could definitely use the qualities of the 29-year-old, who came from Atalanta for 24 million euros in 2019, in the current difficult sporting situation. They have been without a win for four games and are increasingly in danger of losing touch with the top group.
