New Zealand Prime Minister’s daughter escapes from bed and interrupts live stream: ‘Mommy?’ | Abroad

“Mommy?” a voice suddenly sounds in the background. “You should already be in bed,” the prime minister replies. “It’s bedtime honey, go back to bed. I will come to you in a moment.” She then looks back into the camera and continues her story.

Bedtime Failure

“I’m sorry everyone,” Ardern says. “That was a bedtime failure, wasn’t it? I thought: this is the right time for a live stream, but not so.” She says that her mother is also there to help. “Grandma will put you to bed. Thank you, Grandma!” But not much later Neve’s voice sounds in the background again. The prime minister decides to stop the live stream to put her daughter to bed. “I’m sorry, but I’m going to put Neve to bed. It is already too late for her.”

It has often happened that children disrupt a video meeting. The BBC’s interview with Professor Robert Kelly also went global, but not because of his remarkable expertise. His children and their mother stole the show in the background.
