New York State passed the milestone of 10,000 Covid-19 deaths on Monday, reaching 10,056, Governor Andrew Cuomo said, with 671 deaths recorded in the last 24 hours.
The region remains, by far, the most affected in the United States, even if the governor stressed that the slowdown of the pandemic was confirmed in New York State.

The worst is over
Governor Andrew Cuomo said on Monday that “the worst” of the coronavirus crisis was “past” in New York State, figures showing a sharp slowdown in new hospitalizations.
“The worst is over, if we continue to be smart” and to follow the containment measures, he nevertheless qualified. “If we do something stupid, you’ll see those numbers go up again tomorrow”.
