New York Marathon: Geoffrey Kamworor again winner

(New York) Kenyan Geoffrey Kamworor, winner of the event in 2017, won the New York marathon on Sunday, after accelerating in the last five kilometers, ahead of his compatriot Albert Korir.

Kamworor won in 2:08:13 in the final at Central Park. He could never be caught by Korir (2 h 08 min 36 s) nor by the Ethiopian Girma Bekele Gebre (2 h 08 min 38 s).

The other Ethiopian, great organizer of the race, Tamirat Tola, finished in fourth place.

The defending champion, Lelisa Desisa retired after the 13e kilometer.
