Although the coronavirus remains latent in the American Union, The 50 states of the country are already taking giant steps towards reopening, such is the case of New York, where the Big Apple has become the last District in the state to be given the green light to resume activities.
And it is that, after having been considered the city of the epicenter of the coronavirus not only in the American Union, but worldwide, The reopening of the Big Apple is of great impact for the country, as it must be remembered that this is where most of the economy is centered throughout the United States.
“This is a triumphant moment for New Yorkers who fought the disease,” said the Mayor of the City of New York, Bill de Blasio, at the time of inaugurating Phase 1 of the reopening in the Big Apple.

New York in Phase 1: Restrictions, what shops are open, what can and cannot be done
Among the businesses and industries that were authorized to open since June 8, are the following:
- Building
- Agriculture, forestry, fishing and hunting
- Retail (limited to curbside or store pickup or drop-off)
- Manufacturing
- Wholesale trade
On the other hand, among the businesses that have not yet been approved to resume activities are the beauty salons, offices and interiors in bars and restaurants, which remain off limits until the next reopening phase; as well as Broadway shows, museums and large cultural gatherings.
Once all the districts entered the reopening, the Governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, took the opportunity to send a message and emphasize the monitoring of prevention measures, in such a way that a peak in the number of cases is avoided. “If we follow the guidelines in New York City, there shouldn’t be a peak, just like there hasn’t been in the rest of the state,” Cuomo pointed out.
