In New York, comprehensive vaccinations will apply to all employees in the private sector from the end of December. De Blasio argued that the appearance of the omicron variant of the coronavirus, the cold winter weather and the upcoming public holidays were “additional challenges” in the fight against the pandemic. He was “very concerned,” he said, referring to the first confirmed omicron cases in at least 15 US states, including New York. The metropolis of millions was particularly hard hit by the pandemic last year with 34,000 deaths.
France closes discos
In the fight against the fifth corona wave rampant in France, the government has ordered the closure of discotheques.
