A three-story store, with the largest collection of Harry Potter merchandise in the world, opened this week in New York and gathered a crowd that gathered at the entrance hours before opening and had to reserve hours to enter.
The space on the universe of the character created by the writer JK Rowling was going to open last year, but it was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and was made concrete with the presence of hundreds of fans who posed for photos in Hagrid’s giant shoes or in Hogwarts robes and witch hats.
Fans of the young wizard lined up for hours in heavy rain to be the first to visit the three-story store, measuring 1,950 m2 and located near the iconic Flatironen building in southern Manhattan, the AFP news agency reported.
Readers and Harry Potter fans took selfies in front of a red phone booth like the one that transports witches and wizards to the Ministry of Magic and bought “fizzing whizzbees,” a fizzy treat.
