NEW YORK (dpa-AFX) – The US leading index Dow Jones Industrial (Dow Jones 30 Industrial) rose to a record high in early trading on Wednesday. He advanced 0.45 percent to 33,828 points and was driven by the price gains of Goldman Sachs shares (Goldman Sachs) after a record profit by the investment bank. The day before, the Dow had lagged other major US stock market indicators with slight losses.
The NASDAQ 100, which rose to another record high on Tuesday, fell 0.12 percent to 13,970 points. The market-wide S&P 500 was up 0.11 percent on 4,146 meters, but remained just below the record high of the previous day.
Goldman Sachs convinced investors with a record quarterly profit of 6.7 billion US dollars. With a price increase of 2.8 percent, the shares sat at the top of the Dow.
