One of the three tree trunks becomes a raven sitting on a chest. The other trunk becomes the “Elfenzauber”, the third a finger wood. At the jetty in Höfchen, guitar sounds and singing have been mixed in with the droning of chainsaws since Wednesday. Because while the three wood artists Silvio Ukat, Daniela Schwarz and Daniel Adrian Venegas La Reta are creating their new figures for the dam art hiking trail until Sunday, six young musicians are composing new songs next to them. The effect: In the camp at the reservoir, the wood sculptors and musicians of the singer-songwriter summer camp want to inspire each other at the event, which has the motto “Legendary – Art on the Water”.

The artists Otto von Weltwärts, Jan Robel, Christoball, Annemarie Reynis, Emely Hedel and Alina Dalsegno compose together with their artistic director Anika Jankowski. “We work in groups of two to three people and have a time window of three hours for a song,” explains the music manager and head of the Dresden music publisher “Oh, my music!”. In doing so, orientate yourself towards Nashville – the world capital of country music located in the American state of Tennessee. All tracks are professionally recorded in radio quality. “Every artist can then take their songs with them and present them on their live shows,” says Anika Jankowski.

What was created in this singer-songwriter summer camp will be presented to a large audience for the first time on Saturday from 8 pm on the stage at the “Kulturtage an den Zschopauwiesen” in Waldheim. The new wooden art works will be awarded on Sunday at 11 a.m. at the Höfchen boat landing stage by a jury consisting of representatives of the ZWA, the Kriebsteintalsperre association, the mayors of Mittweida and Kriebstein and the Miskus. As the artistic director, Enrico Kletke, explains, the premium amount of 500 euros will be divided among the three artists.
