New Twitter Blue update to replace existing blue verification badges globally

by Ethan Caldwell

It has been announced that the arrival of Twitter Blue paid service in all countries of the world will cause the inevitable – the old, blue, earned ticks will be taken away. As of April 1 of this year, Twitter will begin removing the existing blue ticks from usernames.

Since the beginning of March, Twitter Blue has been available in most European countries, including the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland, Belgium, Sweden, Romania, Czech Republic, Finland, Denmark, Greece, Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovakia, Latvia, Slovenia, Estonia, Croatia , Luxembourg, Malta and Cyprus. The service fee in most of Europe (including Latvia) is 11 euros per month. This applies to both Android and iOS users. The annual fee for Twitter Blue is less than 115 euros.

Twitter Blue paying customers get access to some features not available to ordinary mortals:

  • correct and withdraw your entries;
  • store useful content;
  • customized app navigation;
  • the special reading mode, which allows you to read longer records more comfortably;
  • upload longer videos;
  • less, but not completely eliminated, advertising volume;
  • post longer posts up to 4000 characters;
  • SMS two-factor authentication option (2FA one-time code generation in the app is much more secure than SMS).
