In the sprint, Jonna Sundling claimed the gold while Emma Ribom took silver. Thus, the Swedish duo were big favorites for today’s sprint relay in Planica.
It was between the USA, Norway and Sweden before the last stretch. Jonna Sundling took over after Emma Ribom and the former decided with a powerful move.
– It feels fantastic. It was quite a tough race with very high speed right from the start, says Ribom.
Julia Kern and Tiril Udnes Weng did not hang with Sundling at the end and the Swede was able to sail into the finish as the superior winner.
– I had a plan to go faster and faster and it worked, she says.
The Norwegians had to settle for a silver, and the bronze went to the USA.
