A Labry
The parents of students at the Jean-Morette school in Labry have been mobilized since the beginning of the month. The school map for the start of the 2023 school year, unveiled by the Nancy-Metz Academy , announces the closure of several classes in the Pays-Haut, including one in Labry. From seven classes, the school group should increase to six in September and separate from a teacher. This has several consequences: “First on the well-being of the students, since the CP class will have to be divided into two. Some of the students will join the large section class, the other in CE1, located in two separate buildings. On the other hand, the municipality has invested a lot in the rehabilitation of the school for ten years: 1.1 M for the elementary school and 500,000 € for the kindergarten. Not to mention that the Ornes Lorraine Confluences (OLC) community of municipalities plans to build a building dedicated to extracurricular activities nearby,” says Françoise Chaumont, assistant for school affairs. The parents of pupils (FCPE), worried about the future of the school, are more mobilized than ever. “Around thirty parents and residents attended our public meeting on April 6, our online petition has collected nearly 800 signatures and a letter will be sent to the rector of the academy after the holidays, ”notifies Nacera Toubi, mother of a student.
In Conflans-en-Jarnisy
At Paul-Bert school, there were no surprises when one of the seven classes was closed. “We have been losing students for several years now, so we expected it. We have two non-titular teachers who will have to participate in the movement anyway. We will therefore reorganize the team accordingly, ”explains Fanny Scarpitta, director of this school of 156 students. The classes will go from 24 to 22 children, no significant change on that side either.
A Giraumont
Unlike its neighbours, the Giraumont school is allocated an additional class. While the children of small section were so far mixed with the middle section class, they will have, from September, their own teacher. “The new class will be installed in the second building, which will be separated into two rooms, which should facilitate the organization of naps for toddlers. And given the registrations for the next school year, we know that the class will be busy, ”notes Isabelle Szatmari, Atsem of the school. Teachers have already applied for the post.
And Jarny
The card also provides for the deletion of a class at the Paul-Langevin elementary school, and the creation of a class at the Saint-Exupéry school.
