New job for Scott Parker as Bournemouth gets his ‘number one pick’ – EzAnime.net

Scott Parker has become Bournemouth’s new head coach following his departure from Fulham, signing a three-year contract.

Fulham announced on Monday that the 40-year-old had left the west London club. as TEAMtalk exclusively anticipated. Less than four hours later he was confirmed as the new boss of Cherries. Parker replaces Jonathan Woodgate, who was told earlier this week that his short-term contract would not be renewed.

“I think this is the perfect fit for both parties,” Parker told afcbTV. “I know Bournemouth from my relationship with Harry Arter.

“It is a football club that I know well from having seen it over the years.

“The spirit, the reputation, the journey and the challenge here is something very exciting for me and my staff.

“We want to build a team that the fans can be proud of and that they feel represents them. We can’t wait to get started.

Parker will bring in Matt Wells (assistant head coach), Rob Burch (first team goalkeeping coach), Alastair Harris (performance manager), Charlie Moore (head physical performance coach) and Jonathan Hill (first team chief analyst) the Vitality Stadium.

Parker was Bournemouth’s first choice

Bournemouth CEO Neill Blake said: “It has been a long process, but I am delighted to finally have our man.

“Scott has always been our number one choice for this position and someone whose coaching career we have taken a great interest in since his first steps at the Tottenham Hotspur academy.

“Over a period of time he has proven to be one of the best young head coaches in the country; someone who has a clear philosophy on how he wants to play and knows what it takes to win promotion to the Championship.

“Scott is fully committed to the long-term project before us here, and this is the beginning of an exciting new period for this club.”

Parker took over as Fulham Caregiver, his first senior management position, in February 2019 on a temporary basis. But he failed to keep the club out of the Premier League relegation zone.

After being appointed permanent coach in May of that year, the Cottagers secured promotion to the top flight after beating Brentford in the play-off final.

However, their return to the Premier League lasted less than a year, as their relegation was confirmed after a 2-0 home loss to Burnley last month.
