New Initiatives Against Covid-19 in Pennsylvania Schools | 69 News Spanish Edition

HARRISBURG, PA – In Pennsylvania, conversations continue about how best to protect students from COVID-19.

Governor Wolf’s Administration announced two new virus testing initiatives in schools on Monday.

One allows group testing of a classroom to determine if COVID-19 is present.

The other allows individual tests and both can be done in 10 minutes.

“The program alerts schools quickly if COVID-19 is present inside the classroom or in the school environment, early detection like this is exactly what we need to keep students in classrooms and COVID out.” Said Alison Beam, Acting Health Secretary.

School districts will be able to decide if they want to implement these new initiatives in their schools.
