New iMacs coming soon? Apple reportedly stopped production of 21.5-inch models

Production of some 21.5-inch iMacs is said to be at a standstill. According to the site AppleInsider, which quotes well-informed sources that it assures, Apple would no longer manufacture 21.5 “iMacs equipped with a 4K screen with 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. The stocks of these products would be increasingly scarce, which may suggest that a refresh of part of the range is imminent.

Ten years later, a new design

The last design change for the iMac was in 2012, when Apple refined its all-in-one computer by removing the SuperDrive DVD drive. Before that, we have to go back to 2009, when the iMac adopted its 21: 9 aspect ratio. In ten years, the iMac has almost remained the same.

According to many rumors, an iMac with an edge-to-edge screen, an Apple Silicon processor and, possibly, several colors would soon be announced by Apple. The halt in production of some of the iMacs, those that require specific orders, suggests that all of this could happen soon. Will we see the new iMac before WWDC in June?

In France, all iMacs are currently in stock… with the exception of the famous models with 512 GB or 1 TB of SSD. In a few months, we hope that Apple will finally refresh this product so emblematic of its history.
