New Head of Nuclear Medicine in Treviglio: that’s who he is

Dr. Andrea Bianchi, 52, the new Director of Nuclear Medicine of ASST Bergamo Ovest. Former national secretary of the Aimn Oncology study group, he has a long research career in the field of radiotherapy and pet imaging.

New Director of Nuclear Medicine in Treviglio

Graduated in 1995 in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Perugia and obtained the Specialization in Nuclear Medicine at the same University in 2000. He began his professional career as a researcher at the University Nuclear Medicine of Perugia and then moved as a Doctor at the Nuclear Medicine – PET Center of the S. Croce and Carle Hospital of Cuneo, one of the very first Italian centers to adopt PET technology and still the only center in Piedmont to have Cyclotron-Radiochemistry for the production of positron-emitting radiopharmaceuticals. Head of PET diagnostics in the Cuneo center since 2009, he has carried out training internships in important national and international institutes: Groeningen, Tumor Institute of Milan and Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi of Bologna, in Vienna. Active member of the Italian Association of Nuclear Medicine, since 2017 he is National Secretary of the AIMN Oncology Study Group and as such has initiated research projects and coordinated the drafting of Company Guidelines for PET imaging. He has participated in numerous national clinical trials, actively collaborating in particular with the Italian Association of Oncological Radiotherapy (AIRO) and with the Italian Lymphoma Federation (FIL).
