Mischievous
Micky and the Queen already met at a young age, and for many the duo seemed inseparable.
The 97-year-old was described as cheerful, and is according to that BristolWorld remembered as one of the Queen’s most mischievous friends.
The two friends were close like sisters, and Micky was often seen at the Queen’s side.
According to an article from 1970, reproduced by BristolWorld, the duo often sneaked out into public together.
“One evening, as slow-moving crowds thronged the foyer, the manager recognized Micky Nevill and suddenly realized that the Queen was deep in the crowd, enjoying herself,” the article reads.
– Deeply missed
“Downton Abbey” creator Julian Fellowes tells Daily Mail that Micky was a close friend of his.
– She will be deeply missed. We have been friends for over 50 years.
– Micky was one of the biggest influences in my life. Her knowledge, her judgment, her opinions – everything was extraordinary.
Micky will be buried on Wednesday 8 February.
Members of the British royal family are expected to attend the funeral.
