The audio social media platform Clubhouse, which started to be used in April 2020 and became popular with the effect of the pandemic, is adding a text chat function to its voice rooms, according to its announcement on Thursday. The feature that allows users who do not want to talk on Discord or Zoom to write their ideas is also coming to Clubhouse this time.
Especially in extra-large rooms dominated by a few famous speakers, this chat function may be the only way for some people to join the conversation. However, this can also have negative effects.
To that end, Clubhouse has devised several ways to keep creators’ rooms from spiraling out of control. Creators can assign mods to delete messages and kick offending users from the room. Users can also report messages that violate Clubhouse user guidelines to the platform.
