In one vote against today, Tuesday evening, Doris Kampus, regional councilor for social affairs, was elected executive chairman of the Graz SPÖ by the extended regional council. The party congress with the previous direct elections of all members of the social democracy in Graz is scheduled for the first half of 2023. “Thank you for your great confidence and I promise you that I will do my best to ensure a successful future at SPÖ and strong social democratic handwriting in Graz”, Kampus stressed after constructive discussion and his convincing election to the regional council. Kampus succeeds Michael Ehmann as president, whom board members thanked him for his work with long applause and standing ovations. Michael Ehmann will remain club president on the Graz city council until 2023.
“The SPÖ is the political force in the midst of society”, Kampus pointed out to the board members. One of the biggest challenges will be helping people, including those in the middle class, cope with inflation. Campus: “People expect us as SPÖ to make sure there are good prospects for them again.”
As Provincial Social Councilor, Doris Kampus ensures social security in Graz and throughout Styria. In this capacity, she will continue to work at the point where the big decisions for the future are made, including for the provincial capital of Graz.
As a political goal, he said the SPÖ should again be the first force in the state capital in ten years.
