Initial vaccinations continue in North Rhine-Westphalia. New dates will be assigned from Wednesday. But who can even register for the corona vaccine?
Dortmund – Bottlenecks at the vaccine manufacturers and many second vaccinations have brought the vaccination campaign in NRW to a standstill. From Wednesday, people should be back for first vaccinations against the Coronavirus* can register, reports RUHR24*.
Corona vaccination in NRW: Registration for new appointments in the vaccination center possible soon
But although the prioritization for corona vaccinations * has already fallen in NRW, not everyone should try to make an appointment. That is what the Ministry of Health in North Rhine-Westphalia* communicated on Friday (June 18).
The following groups can register for vaccination appointments in NRW:
- People over 60 years of age
- People with previous illnesses (from 16 years, proof required)
- Employees in hospitals
- Employed in integration assistance or workshops for the disabled

Adolescents between the ages of 12 and 16 who are recommended to be vaccinated according to Stiko are vaccinated by their pediatrician or family doctor.
Corona vaccinations in NRW: how much and which vaccine will be available?
For the restart of the initial vaccinations in the vaccination centers, the Ministry of Health of North Rhine-Westphalia mainly expects vaccines from the German developer Biontech:

However, this vaccine is distributed to all 53 vaccination centers in the state according to the number of inhabitants. Nevertheless, there are still enough people who have not yet had a vaccination appointment: “In particular, people with previous illnesses shouldn’t have to wait any longer,” said Health Minister Karl-Josef Laumann (CDU).
Everyone over the age of 12 should be able to be vaccinated for the first time by the end of July if they want to. In the past four weeks alone, around 1.7 million second vaccinations are said to have been administered.
The rush for corona vaccinations in NRW is great. Many citizens do not get any appointments.
