Sales of new cars in Europe in April jumped by 218.6%, according to the Association of Car Manufacturers in Europe (ACEA). This can be explained by the fact that last year at that time in almost all countries there were strict restrictions due to the coronavirus pandemic.

There are still no great reasons for optimism, because sales in April are almost 300 thousand less than in April 2019. The most serious growth in demand is in the countries most affected by the first wave, such as Italy (growth of 3276.8%) and Spain (+ 1,787.9%).

For Bulgaria sales jumped by 191.3% to 2400 units.

A look at the data for the first four months of the year shows an increase in demand for new cars from 24.4% to 3.4 million. Sales increased in almost all markets except Lithuania, Portugal and Slovakia. For Bulgaria the growth is 18.3%, formed by 7984 transactions.
