New bridges cost less than planned

Flühli / Schachen

New construction of the Chrutacherbrücke and the Rümligbrücke are cheaper than planned

For the two road construction projects in Flühli and Schachen, the cantonal council had granted special loans totaling 9.3 million francs. The new construction of the two bridges could be realized at around 2.74 million francs cheaper than planned.

In September 2016, the Cantonal Council approved a special loan of 3.9 million francs for the new construction of the Chrutacherbrücke in the municipality of Flühli. The final bill is now available: the total costs amount to CHF 3.14 million. The approved credit is thus undercut by 0.76 million francs. The cost savings are mainly due to project optimization during execution and thus lower construction costs, writes the Lucerne State Chancellery in a press release on Tuesday. The necessary land acquisition was also cheaper than planned. The fee costs for specialists, however, were higher than budgeted, as additional clarifications were required.

The costs for the Rümligbrücke in Schachen in the municipality of Malters and Werthenstein are also lower than expected. The total cost will be CHF 3.42 million after completion of the project. That is 1.98 million francs less than the special loan of 5.4 million francs approved by the Cantonal Council in December 2015. Here, too, the construction costs were lower than expected, according to the announcement thanks to synergies and favorable geology. The acquisition of land and the fees were also cheaper than planned.

In both projects, the positions “unforeseen” were not claimed. The Lucerne government council submits the two statements mentioned for the change to the canton road K 36 (Chrutacherbrücke) and K 33 (Rümligbrücke) to the Cantonal Council for approval. (spe)
