“Now the town entrance signs of the town of Neumarkt idOPf. and its Austrian twin town of Mistelbach are represented in the Upper Franconian tourist attraction “Fernweh-Park”,” says Neumarkt’s Lord Mayor Thomas Thumann happily. Enthusiastic about the peace project that brings people together and the possibility of being able to be represented there with the name of the town, the Neumarkt town councilor Lissy Walter, as the consultant for the partnership with Mistelbach, and the cultural consultant, the town councilor Peter Ehrensberger, handed over the two town signs to the initiator of the Fernwehpark Klaus Beer. He was very happy about the two new additions: “If the French partner city Issoire is added, all three signs will be presented on their own “Wanderlust post” in the “Europe” section,” Beer continues. The signs were handed over from Mistelbach and Neumarkt by Günter Tauwaldt, head of the cultural office of the market town of Oberkotzau. The signs were handed over on a very special day: it was the 4th anniversary of the project at the new location in Oberkotzau. Initiator Klaus Beer had invited prominent guests, including the head coach of 1. FC Nürnberg, Robert Klauß and the sports reporter and radio legend Günther Koch, who were included in the “Signs of Fame” with signed greeting boards and handprints.
